Love in a Decade: A Vow Renewal in The Old Marylebone Town Hall

A decade of love, laughter, and partnership—what better way to celebrate than with a vow renewal? This beautiful couple chose to mark their 10-year anniversary by exchanging rings once again, reaffirming the promises they made to each other ten years ago. There’s something so special about revisiting those vows after a decade of shared experiences, growth, and memories.
Coming from an Asian background, I’ve always found vow renewals fascinating, as they’re not common in my culture. From what I’ve learned, they don’t have a single origin but have become popular in Western traditions as a way for couples to reaffirm their commitment, often during milestone anniversaries. It’s less about legalities and more about celebrating the journey they’ve taken together.

Unlike a formal civil wedding, a vow renewal is more relaxed, yet I couldn’t help but smile seeing the “groom” still feeling a bit nervous. Whether it’s the first time or ten years later, there’s something about standing in front of your partner, making promises once again, that brings back all those emotions.
With Old Marylebone Town Hall as the perfect backdrop, and the couple’s daughter, family and their adorable puppy joining in, this renewal felt intimate, joyful, and beautifully personal. From the iconic staircase to the charming streets nearby, every moment captured was a reminder that love, in all its forms, only grows stronger with time.
